Mapcha- A modern version of Himalayan and Tibetan culture

As new year has approached, the tourism in Delhi is increasing vivaciously. Travelers and Delhiites both are eagerly lurking for newness apart from the usual south-west Asian or Western lifestyle.


Breaking the monotony, amid the Delhi outskirts, Majnu Ka Tila is becoming a rage for Travellers (and residents, of course) with a surprising increase on the map’s pinpointing. Although every year, Majnu Ka Tila witnesses new openings but this year has been unarguably heading forward in more exceptional ways.


Mapcha, a new Himalayan Design Studio, the brainchild of Lhanza (an interior designer) and Mesanzey (a designer), opened its door on 2nd October, 2018 with the subtle vibe of Himalayan and Tibet. Calling it as an attempt to venture into handmade and organic world professionally while also providing the space for their creativity.

 Inspired by Bodhi leaf, and made of metal and gold foil, this candle stand is a heart-winning artefact.




 This incense holder, crafted with lotus is travelling across the globe because it’s so handy and attractive.





 Modernly designed Tibetan traditional dress also, called “Kipo” is getting hitched to many wardrobes lately.


Mapcha's beautifully carved Tashi Delek hanger (they say, it is a Tibetan gesture to greet someone) is also, a treat to the eyes.

Its giant door which is embarking neatly settled- ‘Mapcha’, is a real eye-catcher for University students, along with Tibetans, Chinese, Taiwanese, Nepalese and foreigners.

Despite having opened up very recently, Mapcha has become a prominent part of Majnu Ka Tila’s burgeoning creative sellers. Even though they haven’t had an official launch yet, the word seems to have gotten around and the response has been tremendous.
