Perched high on the front seats of Himalayas, Darjeeling is well known for its emerald green tea plantation; colonial architecture and premier attraction for West Bengal.
From, breathing a fusion of fresh air & tea aroma; glittering of cascading streetlights on every steep to the rushing of jeeps and gushing of peeps, Ahh! Who could’ve imagined - to cover in double-triple jackets along with beating the snarling traffic at 4 a.m.? But yeah, it is possible yet thrilling in Darjeeling.

The zest to see India’s highest peak and the world’s third-highest – Khangchendzonga has certainly pushed us to backpack for. So, with an ooze to catch the miraculous glimpse of dawn breaking over the dazzling snow-draped Khangchendzoga. At 3:30 a.m. we headed towards Tiger Hill (11km south of Darjeeling, above Ghum). Amazingly, by the time we reached there, the Observatory Tower and the open viewing terrace next to it started getting full by not only the millennial or photographers but, the families and elders seemed as the passionate tourists too.

Finally! Around 4:30 a.m. all the anticipated faces filled with sparkling eyes got a lifetime souvenir. Unarguably true to its panoramic views, the great five-peaked snow fortress’ – Khangchendzonga, had really left everyone gazing jaw-droppingly. What else was mesmerizing here is to witness at the glorious Himalayas with a sip of Darjeeling tea.

Seems romantic? Right?
“Daily hundred of travelers come here having a spark in eyes, but some of them leave downheartedly cause’ due to climate or fog, the Mount Everest doesn’t turn up”, Sunita (tea seller), Darjeeling.

This morning spectacle is best observed during autumn and spring. What else is enchanting here is to witness that how nature’s beauty beckons travelers from across the globe to watch its magic, without letting them think of getting ditched by the weather. These high-spirited souls and their endless efforts to be a part of the summit was an astonishing affair.
